SORTING AND ORGANISING A WHOLE LOTTA INFO.

5 ways to organise information:

Alphabetical, Time, Location, Continuum, Category

Initially, the task of organising a mass of photographic information into 'groups' seemed quite straightfoward because we already had to document in categories: people, textues, places, words and objects. But this depended on the information that had been documented in response to this. I found organising using the Alphabetical and Continuum methods most effective. I just feel sorry for the person who had to organise mine.

Even through organising information alone, i think you can produce some cool visually interesting stuff!

COLLECT.CATEGORISE.COMMUNICATE.

So,since assessment week, the emphasis has been on research rather than outcome.

'Process is more important than outcome. When the outcome drives the process we will only ever go to where we've already been. If process drives outcome we may not know where we're going, but we will know we want to be there.'
Bruce Mau Design.2006

The quote above really does make a lot of sense...i've definitely been one of those people who has left research until the last minute therefore producing a load of stuff which isn't relevant to the outcome. If you research thoroughly, i guess this then informs the next stages of idea generation etc, the exciting/nerve racking bit being you're not quite sure where its heading, whereas if you work backwards, you'll just be covering the same ground, never discovering or venturing into the unknown!! You've also gotta do the reseach to be in the know! Whats the point in producing an outcome for summet you know nothing or very little about??????
